About us

Our partners and sponsors

The organisations that make our work possible.

Doncaster Council

Our local council has backed us from the start with referrals, training and resources. In 2020 it funded our guidebook Getting Started with Digital Devices through the Covid-19 fighting back fund, with 200 copies given out across Doncaster. It also sponsored Smart Buddies through Local Solution Investment, with the Community Fund and the Craig Macdonald Digital Leaders Award.

Lloyds Banking Group

Digital capability funding paid for cameras, webcams and headsets to improve our training, and for a proper learner database and marketing tools.

South Yorkshire Community Foundation

Funded digital training and our second guidebook, Getting Started with Online Meetings, which has helped over 100 people join or run a meeting online.

Online Centres Network

Brought together by Good Things Foundation. We are Centre ID 800594. Google.org funding through Good Things Foundation paid for our Make it Click project, giving over 100 people free digital training and resources.

Polypipe

Sponsored our 2020 Apprenticeship and Careers Fair, with speakers from Sheffield Hallam University, Lloyds Banking Group, BT, Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and the Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones.

Community Fund

Funded Digital Capability Training for people with little or no digital knowledge: training, device set-up and guidebooks. Over 200 people benefited.

FutureDotNow

Donated 10 tablets with internet access in 2020 for people who could not afford one during the pandemic.

Social Enterprise Exchange Fund

Funded our website, computers for making training videos, and tablets for our volunteers.

Community Wealth Builders

£500 barrier buster funding for four online safety sessions at Age UK Doncaster. All six learners, aged 70 to 80, said they felt more confident and safer.
