About us

It started with one laptop.

And a founder who kept helping friends and family with their devices.

Knowledge Pool is a digital skills organisation based in Doncaster. Our mission is to improve digital skills in our community.

It started with one personal laptop, internet access and free conferencing software, because our founder wanted to help friends and family with digital problems. That simple help grew. We now support people adjusting to life in the community, including people new to the UK, asylum seekers, people on low incomes, people from Black and Asian minority ethnic backgrounds and people with disabilities, from little or no digital skill to confident everyday use.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we helped many people connect with friends and family online by giving out tablets and smartphones, internet access, guidebooks and online training.

That helped parents home-school, groups work together, families stay close, and people shop, bank, order prescriptions, book appointments and register for services online. Next, we want to grow digital clubs and buddies across Doncaster.
